The Northern Regional Police Command has invited 12 persons for questioning over the recent clashes that erupted in Buipe between the rival Jinapor and Lebu gates.

Five persons were shot last Friday following misunderstanding on preparations towards this year’s Damba festival celebration in the area.

No arrest has been made so far but the Buipe District Police Commander, ASP Owusu Antwi told Citi News, four persons from the Jinapor gate and eight from the rival Lebu gate have been invited to assist the police in their investigation.

Meanwhile, the Bawku divisional police crime officer, DSP Adamu Seidu, has advised residents of Bawku to depoliticise the murder of the assemblyman for the Bador electoral area, Francis Fuseini.

Mr. Fuseini, a known NPP activist was gunned down by unknown assailant in Bador near Bawku of the Upper East region of Ghana.

Amadu Hamza, the Bawku NPP Secretary has said he suspects his death was politically motivated.

But DSP Seidu disagreed with him and told Citi News investigations conducted so far reveals, Mr. Fuseini’s death was chieftaincy related.

“I know to the best of my knowledge that they have chieftaincy issues there and we suspect that the murder was in line with that,” DSP Seidu said.
